Have the Best Christmas Lawn Decorations on the Block!

Jack and Kim had only been in their new house a few months when the holiday season arrived. Since it was their first house, the young couple really wanted to go all out with Christmas Lawn Decorations. They were just so excited to finally have a home of their own to decorate. But, as they sat in their new den searching the Internet for lighted Xmas yard art,it occurred to them that they didn’t really have any unique ideas for lawn decorations. They wanted to go beyond the traditional outdoor Christmas lights and Christmas wreath decorations.

"Scooch, I have an idea!" Kim said to her husband as she gently nudged him out of the computer chair. When she got in front of the keyboard, she typed this into the search engine: Christmas lights outdoor decorating ideas.

"If we can find Christmas decorations online, I’m sure we can find decorating ideas too," Kim jubilantly declared. She was right. The search engine returned numerous webpages with photographs of creative Christmas decorations. Many of the pages also appeared to include instructions on how to create the pictured looks.

“Oh look, Honey! Here’s a page for you,” Kim joked as she pointed to a link for a bookstore. The webpage’s description said they carried a book called, “Decorating Outdoor Christmas Trees with Lights: Instructions.”

"Ha ha,” Jack replied dryly. “What about this one?” He pointed to a different link, which Kim clicked. The page to which they were directed featured some neat ideas that incorporated inflatable Christmas decorations.

“Hmm, these are cute,” Kim complimented Jack’s suggestion. “I really like that one with Santa and the reindeer on the roof,” she continued. “We could get one of these, but I do still want outdoor Christmas lights. I just want to do something more creative with them than draping them over the hedges.”

“Okay, well let’s keep looking,” Jack insisted. After more thoroughly researching what other people were doing for holiday lawn decorations, Kim became determined that she needed Christmas halographic lawn train set decorations. Jack liked the idea too. Having a lit up train set was certainly a way to use outdoor Christmas lights other than “draping them over the hedges.”

Once the couple had a better idea of the kind of holiday lawn decorations they wanted, they shifted their search to online merchants of those products. They quickly found a website that offered all the lawn ornaments they wanted, and they placed their order.

“This is great,” Jack commented as they were going through the online checkout, “no lines, no rude sales people.”

“I know,” Kim agreed. “I feel so sorry for our parents. They had to go out and get all this stuff when we were kids!”

Within a few days, Jack and Kim’s new Christmas decorations showed up on their doorstep, and the couple immediately went to work unpacking everything and decorating their yard

“This is so much fun!” Kim gleefully exclaimed as she took the last of the outdoor Christmas lights and decorations from the shipping boxes. “I can’t believe we finally have our own yard to decorate!” Kim always had a lot of holiday spirit, and it had been disappointing to her in years past when the only place she had to put outdoor Christmas lights was a dinky apartment balcony.

The couple had ultimately chosen two inflatable Christmas decorations—Santa and the reindeer on the roof and a giant snowglobe. Jack was preparing to inflate them when Kim noticed their new next door neighbor, Sherry, crossing the lawn.

“My, you certainly are festive!” Sherry observed. “Where did you get that snowglobe? It’s adorable!”

“We bought all our Christmas decorations online,” Kim answered her.

“What a great idea!” Sherry replied. “I may have to look into that myself. I love decorating for the holidays, but they never carry anything like this at the store where I usually buy my Christmas lights and decorations.”

“Oh, you should definitely check it out,” Kim encouraged her. “We found so much great stuff on the Internet.”

“All right, well you two have fun decorating your new house,” Sherry smiled warmly at Kim as she said this. “I’m off to a PTA meeting.”

“Okay, see you later,” Kim bid her neighbor farewell. Then, she went to assist her husband who had moved on to assembling the halographic decorations. He seemed to be having some issues as he looked completely confused.

Kim went over to where her husband was sitting in their yard surrounded by pre-lit sections of their new lawn decorations. She looked amusedly at him and teased, “Wow, maybe we should have gotten you that instructional book!”

Jack laughed and playfully shoved Kim’s leg. “Oh, hush! Get down here, and help me with this,” he pleaded.

Following the enclosed instructions, Kim was able to erect the holiday lawn decorations in no time. Apparently, this crucial piece of paper had been inadvertently” overlooked by her husband.
